Casey Kroll arrived on the Hilltop in the spring of 2018 and serves as an offensive graduate assistant. He came to SMU after a season at Lamar University where he worked in the same role.
While at Lamar, Kroll assisted with the offensive line unit, helped break down opponent film and ran scout team defense.
Prior to Kroll’s stint at Lamar, he worked offensive quality control at his alma mater, James Madison (2016-17). Kroll was part of the Dukes’ National Championship and Colonial Athletic Association championship season in 2016 and helped JMU to top-5 national rankings in scoring offense (2nd), total offense (3rd) and rushing offense (4th). He also helped mentor an AP All-American and three all-conference selections.
Kroll played offensive line at James Madison from 2011-15, helping the Dukes to a 2015 CAA championship and FCS Playoff appearances in 2011, 2014 and 2015. In 2015 JMU was the top-ranked overall offense in FCS and ranked eighth the previous season.
Kroll graduated from JMU with a degree in public policy administration and a minor in political science in 2014. He was a CAA Academic All-Conference selection and a member of the Hampshire Honor Society, as well as an Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete Award Winner. Kroll also earned a master’s in public administration from JMU in 2016. He is currently pursuing a master’s in liberal studies at SMU.
