Marcus Riley is in his second season as SMU's Defensive Graduate Assistant.

Riley played collegiately at Fresno State under SMU Defensive Coordinator Tom Mason. Riley was selected the WAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2007 after ranking among the national leaders in tackles and tackles for-loss. Riley played in 39 games over four seasons at Fresno (2004-07). Riley recorded a total of 225 tackles, 21 tackles for-loss, 7.5 sacks, two interceptions and five forced fumbles

Following graduation, Riley spent time in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers and also played three seasons in the UFL.
