Senior (2019): Played in 13 games, making one start… Registered 19 tackles (12 solo)… Had 7.0 TFLs for 45 yards, including 5.5 sacks for 31 yards, helping the defense to national rankings of first in sacks per game (3.92) third in tackles for loss (8.5)…  Added two breakups and one fumble recovery.

Junior (2018): Played 11 games, starting seven... Registered 23 tackles (17 solo)... Had 3.0 TFLs and 0.5 sacks... Added a fumble recovery, one breakup and one QB hurry. 

Sophomore (2017): Played in 13 games, making five starts… Registered 15 tackles (10 solo, 5 asst)… Had 5.5 tackles for loss… Intercepted one pass and had one fumble recovery… Added four QBHs.

Freshman (2016): Played in all 12 games…Recorded 21 tackles (18 solo) with a season-high four tackles at Temple…Finished second on the team in TFL’s with 7.5, including two against the Owls and third on the squad in sacks (4.0)…Registered a season-high two sacks against No. 11 Houston...Tallied three QB hurries and two pass breakups.

Prep: A consensus three-star prospect... A two-time District 13-5A Defensive Most Valuable Player... Rated as the No. 75 strongside defensive end in nation by 247sports... Named to Team USA for 2016 International Bowl... Named one of "Texas' Best" 2016 Defensive Linemen by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Rising... Ranked as the No. 45 player overall in the DMN's Area Top 100... Notched 74 tackles, 30 tackles for-loss, 11 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception - which he returned for a touchdown... Played for Henry Cofer and Carlton Nelson at Kimball... Also lettered in soccer as a goalie... Chose SMU over offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, Nevada and Virginia among others... Recruited by Buddy Wyatt.

Personal: Son of Denica and Bernard Phillips... Uncle played football at TCU.
