Junior (2019): Played in all 13 games... Registered 13 tackles (4 solo)... AWARDS: Burlsworth Trophy Nominee... American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

Sophomore (2018): Played in 12 games... Spent the majority of time on special teams... Registered 12 tackles (7 solo)... Had one forced fumble... AWARDS: American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

Enrolled at SMU in January of 2018.

Freshman (2016 at Utah): Was on the initial 105 roster for the 2016 fall camp.

Prep: First-team All-State as a senior at Parish Episcopal HS (Texas) in 2015… District Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-district… 153 tackles, eight sacks, 24 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as a senior… 15 tackles and two sacks in a win over Glen Rose… 13 tackles, four quarterback hurries and two sacks in win over Triple A Academy… Attended and played football Prestonwood Christian as a sophomore and junior… Named honorable mention all-district as a junior when he had 56 tackles, four sacks, two fumble recoveries, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.

Personal: Son of Putt and Fifi Choate… Father played football for SMU—where he still holds the school career (649) and single-season (253 in 1978) tackle records—and also played one season for the Green Bay Packers in 1987… Has one sister.
