Senior (2018): Starting all 12 games... AWARDS: American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

2017 (Junior at Kansas): Saw action in 11 games on both special teams and along the offensive line... Academic All-Big 12 First Team; Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (fall and spring).
 
2016 (Sophomore at Kansas): Played in 11 games… Stepped in to start at right guard for the last five matchups... Academic All-Big 12 First Team; Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (fall and spring). 
 
2015 (Freshman at Kansas): Played in 11 games along the offensive line… Started nine contests, including the last five straight at right tackle... Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team; Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (fall).
 
High School: Received two-star recognition from Rivals… Earned nine letters participating in basketball, football and track & field at Creekview HS… Played for head coach Jay Cline. 
 
Personal: Son of Bill and Sandy Hughes… Has one brother and one sister, John and Gabby… Father, Bill, played football at Maryland and earned an invitation to training camp by the Detroit Lions.
