Lee led the team with a 71.31 scoring average breaking her own SMU record for lowest single season scoring mark. She finished the year ranked No. 36 in the nation. Lee was named an Honorable Mention All-American by Golfweek. She was named all-conference by the ACC for her season-long performance. Lee shot 23 of 35 rounds at-or-under par during the season, including a streak of 10 in a row that came to an end at the Clemson Invitational. She posted top 21 showings at both the conference championship and the NCAA Regional. She led the Mustangs for the ninth time at the ACC Championship. She broke the SMU career birdie record with her 369
th career birdie at the Veritex Bank Collegiate. She finished in a tie for third at the event. The junior finished in a tie for 15
th at the Clemson Invitational. Lee finished alone in third at Schwab Spring Collegiate. She started with rounds of 67 and 68. Lee finished in third tying number one ranked amateur Lottie Woad at the Briars Creek Invitational. She finished tied for the SMU lead at the Chevron Collegiate with a third place showing. She was tops on the team with a 21
st place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate. She led the team in the first event of the season, the Cougar Classic. She carded three under par rounds and finished in a tie for second at six-under par.
2023-24 (So.) - Mackenzie Lee led the team with a 71.32 scoring average during the season, good for 0.68 below par on average. The North Little Rock, Arkansas native was named all-conference for the second straight season. She set the mark for the lowest scoring average in program history. Her career scoring average of 71.49 is the lowest in SMU history with a minimum of 45 rounds. Lee has recorded 16 top-10 finishes in 26 events in her young career. She has a low round of 62 and has 12 rounds in the 60s this season. Lee is ranked No. 32 individually in the country. She finished in a tie for sixth at the NCAA Regional starting off play with an opening round 68. During the Regional, she set the career record for rounds of par or better with 47; Lee finished in the top five at the AAC Championship with a low round of 67. The sophomore finished in 12
th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Lee finished in fourth at the Florida State Match Up. She shot rounds of 69, 68 and 71 to finish the tournament at eight under. The North Little Rock, Arkansas native finished in a tie for ninth as the Mustangs captured the team title at The Show. Lee finished in 6
th at the Chevron Collegiate. In the first event of the spring, Lee had her best collegiate finish with a second-place showing at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara. In the final event of the fall, Lee led the Mustangs with a one-over showing at the Landfall Tradition. At the Jim West Challenge, Lee finished in a tie for fourth and broke her own SMU 18-hole record with a 10-under showing in round three. Lee started her 2023-24 season with an eighth place showing at the Dick McGuire. She carded a 68 on the final day to move up 12 spots on the leaderboard into her ninth career top 10 finish.
2022-23 (Fr.) - Lee was the Mustang leader in the six of 12 formal tournaments on the season. Lee was second on the team with a 71.78 scoring average, good for 0.15 below par on average. She placed in the top 10 in eight competitions during the season. She finished with the second lowest scoring round in program history trailing only Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang’s 2022-23 season (71.38) and topping the previous best 72.18 by Lindsey McCurdy in 2016-17. Lee was one of three Mustangs to break the single-season record of par or better rounds which stood at 19. She recorded 23 in 2022-23. She started her career with a T13 performance at the Dick McGuire Invite, shooting a 68 (-4) in the final round of competition. She followed that up with a T7 showing at The "Mo"Morial, finishing the tournament four under par. She shot below par in the first two rounds at The Ally and finished the event in eighth place. Most recently, Lee finished in fourth at the Jim West Challenge. She posted a middle round 67 to highlight another impressive showing for the freshman. At the Hurricane Invitational, Lee posted her best performance of the season, finishing in second place. Lee broke the program record for single round scoring with a round of nine-under par at the Icon Invitational. She went on to finish the tournament in fourth place. Lee recorded her sixth top-10 finish on the season with a fifth-place showing at the Trinity Forest Invitational. At the Briar's Creek, Lee recorded her fifth top five finish of the season with a third place showing. Lee earned All-conference honors for her 2022-23 season. She finished in a tie for third at the NCAA San Antonio Regional leading the Mustangs to a regional title. At the NCAA Championship, Lee finished 65
th in the nation. Her performances during the 2022-23 season earned her a 51st place ranking in the year-end edition of the GolfStat Rankings.
