Mustangs Continue to Prepare for Homecoming
Oct 24 | Football
The SMU football team practiced today for 90 minutes in shells at the Mustang practice fields.
"Nevada has a good passing game," said coach Mike Cavan. "We have to stay alert on defense because they are capable of putting up some big numbers."
The Mustangs worked on all aspects of the kicking game to begin this afternoon's practice. Offensively, the team worked on pass routes and the running game. Sophomore wide receiver Johnnie Freeman had a couple of leaping catches for the offensive unit. Defensively, the squad worked on sled drills and one-on-one drills with the offense. Freshman cornerback Wesley Medlock and sophomore cornerback Jonas Rutledge each had an interception to lead the defense.
This weekend is Homecoming at SMU, as the Mustangs will take on the Wolfpack of Nevada. Kickoff is set for 11:00am at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. Tickets are still available for the game through the SMU ticket office.
