Dallas, Texas -- The SMU football team continued to prepare for this Saturday's home game with San Jose State University. The team worked out in shells for 90 minutes at the SMU practice fields.
"We have to continue to work on the little things this week," said Mustang head coach Mike Cavan. "San Jose has is a tough team to prepare for. They have a very balanced attack and have a couple of gamebreakers on offense."
Offensively for the Mustangs, sophomore tight end John Hampton had several great catches off the accurate throwing arm of junior quarterback Josh McCown. Defensively, the Mustangs continued to stress pass defense. Leading the way for the defensive unit was sophomore cornerback Tommy Dorsey, who had a couple of pass break-ups during one-on-one drills.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 6:00 p.m. CST. Tickets are still available for this contest and can be purchased by calling 214-SMU-GAME.
