Dallas, Texas -- The SMU football team had a 60 minute workout today at the SMU practice fields.
"The quarterback position will be open for competition," said coach Mike Cavan. "Whomever plays the best this week during practice will be our starter on Saturday."
Defensively, the Mustangs recorded two interceptions during seven-on-seven. Both sophomore cornerback Kevin Garrett and sophomore linebacker Brian Bischoff returned their interceptions for touchdowns. Offensively, junior quarterback David Page hooked up with sophomore wide receiver Billy Ford for a long reception during the team drills.
The Mustangs will be at home this weekend for a matchup with Tulsa. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. Tickets are still available through the SMU ticket office.
