Coach Mike Cavan's Weekly Press Conference

On Last Week's Practice

"We had a good fundamental week of practice. We needed to focus on that after last week, where we put forth a tremendous effort, but lost the ball game because of some mistakes."

On SMU's Squad

"We're a good football team. We're putting forth effort, we're improving and now we just have to get out there and win some football games."

On Hawaii

"Thye're a good football team. They'll really spread us out with four- and five-wide sets and test our pass defense. But we've been tested on defense this year and we've played pretty well."

On SMU's Game Plan

"We just have to keep the same level of effort and desire that we had last week. Offensively, we need to just do more of what we did versus NC State and put some more points on the board."
