DALLAS, TEXAS -- The SMU Football Team continued its preparation for the 2001 season on Thursday, as the Mustangs took part in a 90 minute-long practice which focused on position work.
The Ponies worked out in shorts and jerseys on the SMU practice fields and spent most of the session working within small groups.
In addition to the position work, the Mustangs briefly worked on special teams play including field goals and punts.
The Ponies appeared sharp in the short session and wrapped up practice by running 70-yard wind sprints up and down the field.
The SMU season opener is just over a week away, with the Mustangs set to travel to Shreveport, La., to face Louisiana Tech in the regular-season and WAC-season opener on Sept. 1.
