SMU Football Gets Back to Work

DALLAS, TEXAS -- After a day off, the SMU football team got back onto the practice fields in preparation for this Saturday's home-opener against arch rival TCU at Gerald. J. Ford Stadium. Head coach Mike Cavan put his squad through a two-hour workout in full pads today.
"We had a good day of work," said Cavan. "We put the past behind us and are focusing on TCU.
"TCU has a great defense that can really run. They were very vanilla on offense against North Texas but I think we will see everything they have on Saturday."
Heavy rains hit the area for about 20 minutes while the Mustangs were on the practice fields today. SMU focused on special teams work early in the practice. The later portions were spent going against the scout teams, emulating TCU's offense and defense.
The Mustangs continue practice on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 6:00 p.m.
