SMU?s Krystian Pfeiffer has been named the Western Athletic Conference men?s tennis players of the week.

Pfeiffer, a senior from Boleslawiec, Poland, clinched a road victory for the Mustangs over archrival TCU when he defeated Fabrizio Sestini, 7-6, 2-6, 7-6. Sestini had two match points at 15-40 on Pfeiffer?s serve in the 12th game of the third set, but Pfeiffer came back to hold and then won the tiebreaker at 7-5. Following that performance, Pfeiffer defeated the nation?s third-ranked singles player, Baylor?s Benjamin Becker, in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6, on Saturday.

Fresno State?s Stefan Suta and Tulsa?s Shri Sudhakara were also nominated for the men.
