DALLAS, TEXAS -- The SMU football team got one practice in on Wednesday morning before bad weather in the Metroplex cancelled the afternoon workout.

The Mustangs will return to practice on Thursday with morning and afternoon sessions. Two-a-days continue on Friday and SMU will hold its first scrimmage of the fall on Saturday.

In one other football note, senior defensive tackle Warrie Birdwell has decided to leave the team and informed head coach Phil Bennett of his decision on Tuesday.
