Mustangs Seventh At Rain-Soaked Oklahoma Intercollegiate

EDMOND, Okla. (SMU) - After a rain-soaked, rough opening round, the SMU men's golf team is tied for seventh at the inaugural Oklahoma Intercollegiate at 7,417 yard, par-71 Oak Tree Golf Club.

SMU posted a 316 to tie Baylor for seventh at the rain-marred event, after no Mustangs finished the round with a score better than 77. James Minahan posted the 77 and is tied for 14th. Colt Knost's 78 is good for an 18th-palce tie, while Brandon DeStefano's 80 left him 27th. Scott Sikes and Dan Kleckner are tied for 32nd at 81.

Ohio State leads the event at 304 as a team, while Arkansas' Andrew Landry leads as an individual at 71.

The Oklahoma Intercollegiate is a 54-hole tournament, with 18 holes played on Sunday, 18 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes concluding on Tuesday. Oak Tree Golf Club was the host of the 2006 Senior PGA Championship won by Jay Haas.
