EDMOND, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team continued to have a rough go of it in round two of the inaugural Oklahoma Intercollegiate at 7,417 yard, par-71 Oak Tree Golf Club. SMU carded a round of 302 and sits in eighth place at 618 entering Tuesday's final round.
Brandon DeStefano (154) and Dan Kleckner (155) posted solid 74s on Monday and are in 20th and 21st overall, respectively. Colt Knost (156) again shot 78 and is tied for 27th. Scott Sikes (157) also had a nice 18 on Monday, carding a 76 and is tied for 33rd along with teammate James Minahan (157), whose 80 dropped him from 14th after day one.
Tulsa leads the event at 594 as a team, while TU's Sam Korbe leads as an individual at 143.
The Oklahoma Intercollegiate is a 54-hole tournament, with 18 holes played on Sunday, 18 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes concluding on Tuesday. Oak Tree Golf Club was the host of the 2006 Senior PGA Championship won by Jay Haas.
