EDMOND, Okla. (SMU) - After a pair of tough rounds, the SMU men's golf team responded with a stellar performance in the final round of the inaugural Oklahoma Intercollegiate, posting a team 287 - the lowest score recorded by any team in any round of the tournament. SMU jumped from eighth to third in the talent-laden field at the 7,417 yard, par-71 Oak Tree Golf Club.
Colt Knost once again led SMU, jumping from 27th to ninth in the field with a final-round 70. Knost finished at 226. Brandon DeStefano (227) and Dan Kleckner (227) also posted top-15 showings as the two fired rounds of 73 and 72, respectively, on Tuesday. James Minahan rebounded from an 80 in round two to shoot a 1-over 72 over the final 18 and finished in 21st at 229. Scott Sikes rounded out SMU's squad with an 81-76-76-233 to tie for 28th.

The Mustangs are now finished with fall tournaments and will return to the links Feb. 20-22 at the John Burns Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii.
