ARDMORE, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team carded a final-round 275 to finish in fourth place at 816 at the 15th-annual Perry Maxwell Intercollegiate Invitational at Dornick Hills Country Club. SMU showed well in the loaded event, besting Tulsa, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Colorado and others and came up just one shot short of bettering host Oklahoma (815).

SMU was led again by junior Colt Knost, whose final-round 69 made him the only Mustang to shoot all three rounds under 70. Knost finished in fourth place at 205 (69-67-69). Conference USA champion Will Dodson was ninth at 208 (70-68-70), while Arwed Fischer took 16th at 212 (69-69-74) on the heels of back-to-back 69s on Saturday. Wes Homan was solid at 74-70-70 to finish 29th at 214. Mustangs Dan Kleckner (67-75-74) and Scott Sikes (71-75-70) tied for 36th at 216, while Brandon DeStefano was 54th at 74-72-77-223.

The Maxwell, co-hosted by OU and Oklahoma State, is SMU's final tune-up before NCAA Regionals.
