HONOLULU (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team jumped up to eighth place during the second round of play at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the 6,916-yard Leilehua Golf Course. After opening with a team 289, the SMU team fired a 285 over the second 18 to stand at 2-under 574. SMU is 20 strokes back of leader UNLV.
SMU's Frank Wrenn (67-67), who is playing the event as an individual, shares the tournament lead with Jarred Texter of UNLV at 10-under 134.
Colt Knost (72-70) and Scott Sikes (73-70) each shot 70 on day two and are tied for 18th and 25th, respectively. Last year's Burns' medalist, Brandon DeStefano (71-73) is tied for 34th at 144. Scott Barton (73-72) is tied for 43rd and Draegen Majors (75-75) is tied for 89th.
