Box Score vs. Alabama 
DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team fell to No. 31 Alabama 6-1 Saturday at Turpin Tennis Center. With the loss, the Mustangs are now 2-2 on the season.
Senior Artem Baradach turned in another strong performance for the Mustangs, picking up the team's only point on the afternoon. The No. 29-ranked singles player downed Ricky Doverspike 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Baradach then teamed up with Adham el-Effendi to defeat Doverspike and Vikram Reddy 8-6 in doubles.
However, Alabama earned the doubles point winning the first two doubles matches. Jarryd Botha and Daniil Proskura were first off the courts beating Tobias Flood and Joesph Hattrup 8-5. Michael Thompson and Ian Chadwell clinched the point for the Crimson Tide after defeating Darren Walsh and Mischa Nowicki 8-5.
In singles play, Botha was first to finish, defeating David Costa 6-1, 6-3. Shortly after, Thompson beat Nowicki 6-3, 6-1. Reddy then disposed of Bryan Griffin 7-6, 6-3 to secure the win for Alabama.
el-Effendi and Gaston Cuadranti each went three sets before falling to their opponents 6-4, 3-6, 3-6 and 6-2, 5-7, 5-7 respectively.
SMU hosts Baylor at the Dallas Country Club Sunday at noon.
