DALLAS (SMU)— The SMU men's tennis team fell to USF 4-2 Sunday afternoon at the SMU Tennis Complex. The Bulls improved to 13-7 (3-1 The American), while the Mustangs fell to 11-9 overall and 2-2 in the AAC.

SMU won the doubles competition to earn the first point of the afternoon. Tony Russell and Samm Butler beat USF's Kalyuzhnyy and Wojcik 6-3 on Court 3 before Hunter Johnson and Arkadijs Slobodkins defeated USF's Bertran and Roberts 7-6 on Court 2 to give SMU the opening point.

In singles play, Sam Butler defeated USF's Roberts, 6-3, 7-6, on Court 3. No. 48 Gozun and No. 87 Hunter Johnson split the first two sets, 3-6, 6-1, before Gozun won the third set, 6-4, on Court 1. On Court 2, USF's Barroso-Campos and No. 55 Ronald Slobodchikov also split the first two sets, 3-6, 6-2, before Barroso-Campos won the third set, 6-3.

The Mustangs play at University of New Orleans Tuesday at 2 p.m.
