DALLAS – In their first action of the spring season, SMU men's tennis swept Prairie View A&M 7-0 in back-to-back matches on Thursday at SMU's Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
Louis Cloud and
Liam Krall got the first match started with a 6-0 doubles win.
Adam Neff and
Callaway Clark secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win.
Krall concluded his strong opening day with a 6-3, 6-3 #1 singles victory.
Adam Neff,
Louis Cloud,
Callaway Clark, and
Eli Susser all added straight set victories to complete the win for the Mustangs.
Kyle Sillman and
John Zisette got the second match going with a 6-0 doubles victory.
Pranav Kumar and Neff followed up with a hard-fought comeback victory to take the point for SMU.
Kumar impressed in his debut with the Mustangs, winning in No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.
Jordi Redelijk, Johnny Zissette,
Alex Stafford, and
Kyle Sillman all dominated their singles matches, finishing off a clean sweep for the Mustangs on the day.
SMU did not drop any sets in either match.
Freshmen Cloud, Susser, and Stafford put together strong performances in their victorious spring debuts.
The Mustangs host Purdue on Saturday at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex at 1 p.m.
