IRVING, Texas (SMU/American Athletic Conference) – Adam Neff has been named Player of the Week by the American Athletic Conference following a number of big performances for the Mustangs in their three conference wins over the weekend. The sophomore played at the number one line in all six of his matches, going 2-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles. This is Neff's first AAC Player of the Week honor.
 
He got the weekend started against Temple with dominant singles and doubles wins. The 76^th ranked Neff/Thamma pairing won 6-3 in doubles, before Neff cruised to a straight-set 6-2, 6-3 victory in singles. The Mustangs went on to win 4-0, Neff playing a part in two of SMU's four points. He played the top doubles line with Pranav Kumar the following day against Wichita State, winning by an even greater margin, 6-0. SMU won the match 4-2.
 
Neff's most impressive performance came on Monday against the 37^th ranked Memphis Tigers in a battle of undefeated, ranked AAC teams. Neff paired with Kumar once again, taking on Memphis' 18^th ranked doubles team. After falling behind 2-5, the SMU pairing mounted an incredible comeback, winning the next five games in a row to defeat their opponents 7-5 and clinch the doubles point for the Mustangs. Neff once again impressed in singles, defeating the 6-foot-5 David Stevenson in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5. SMU defeated Memphis 4-0, Neff once again accounting for two of the points.
 
Neff stated, "This is a huge honor for me, as it's my first conference player of the week award, but hopefully not the last. I was really excited with the way I performed this weekend against some really high-level opponents, but am more excited for the team getting three W's. We're getting close to the end of the season, so to continue to get better and better as a team each week is amazing to see."
