CHARLOTTE, N.C. (SMU) — Sophomore forward
Nyah Rose was named Third Team All-ACC, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Rose is the first Mustang in program history to earn All-ACC honors.
The Markham, Ontario, was one of 11 players to receive third-team honors and was the only Mustangs to receive any ACC honors. The complete list of All-ACC honorees can be found
here.
Rose appeared in 11 games with nine starts this past season and was second on the team in goals scored with five. She scored the team's lone goal against No. 2 Florida State, helping the team secure a 1-1 draw. The striker scored three of her five goals in conference play including on the road at Miami and Virginia.
Rose missed five matches early in the season as she was named to Canada's FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Colombia 2024 roster. Rose shined on the international stage. She scored Canada's first tournament goal against France in a 3-3 draw and recorded seven shots on goal in the team's 9-0 defeat of Fiji. Rose started in two of the team's three group play matches (France and Brazil) and helped team Canada reach the round of 16 in the tournament for the first time since 2014.
Earlier this year, Rose was named to the 2024 Hermann Trophy Watch List, which is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year. She was among 44 players named to the watch list and one of only three sophomores to receive the honor.
