LEWISVILLE, Texas (DCTF/SMU) – Five SMU football players were selected for Midseason All-Texas CFB honors by Dave Campbell's Texas Sports, announced the publication in a release on Tuesday.
Nabbing first team honors were wide receiver Romello Brinson, center Joshua Bates and safety Isaiah Nwokobia.
Brinson has had an explosive first half of the 2025 season, leading the receiving core with 32 receptions for 484 yards and three touchdowns. Bates has started every game this 2025 campaign, seeing action in 11 games throughout his career. Nwokobia leads the team this season in both total tackles and solo tackles, registering 48 and 22, respectively. Ranking 15th in the nation for passes defended, the safety has recorded six pass breakups and an interception for SMU.
Claiming spots on the second team were offensive lineman Logan Parr and defensive end Cameron Robertson.
Parr is a critical part of the Mustang offense, playing in 50 games throughout his career and starting in all six games this season. Robertson has put up 31 total tackles this season, including 4.5 sacks and 17 solo tackles. The defensive end has also earned three quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
The Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2025 Midseason All-Texas college football teams include 56 players with at least one representative from 12 of the 13 FBS programs in the Lone Star State. Texas A&M and Texas Tech each earned eight selections while Texas, Baylor and Houston followed at six each. SMU earned five spots while TCU has four.
