Notable Results
200 Medley Relay
In the first event of the meet, the Mustangs' 200 medley relay squads claimed the win along with second and third. Winning the event was the squad of Thad Austin, Kristaps Mikelsons, Nico Sobenes and Sage Sungail with a time of 1:28.22. SMU's team of Andy Baklanov, Ben Longeway, Cameron Thompson and Harold Lockhart earned second by touching the wall in 1:29.02. In an exhibition, Jack Berube, Trey Clervi, Aidan Arie and George Gonzalez threw down a 1:29.35, the third-fastest time in the event.
1000 Free
Captain Jack Forrest won the 1000 free after finishing in 9:13.62. Newcomer Leo Pelaez followed with a 9:18.45. Junior Mark Van Eybergen secured the podium sweep by touching the wall in 9:18.82.
200 Free
Freshman Francis Brennan earned his first collegiate win with a victory in the 200 free. The Ontario native finished with a time of 1:35.74. Auburn transfer Benjamin Chateigner touched the wall in 1:36.77 to earn second. Sophomore Eli Likins finished third with a time of 1:38.06.
100 Back
Junior Jack Berube won the 100 back, throwing down a 47.69. Freshman Thad Austin followed Berube, touching the wall in 48.31. Andrew Baklanov earned third with a time of 48.70.
100 Breast
Kristaps Mikelsons claimed victory in the 100 breast, posting a 54.51. Freshman Trey Clervi nabbed second for the Mustangs, finishing in 55.44. Sophomore Ben Longeway completed the podium sweep with a 55.49.
200 Fly
Senior Ryan Peckham secured the 200 fly win for SMU, touching the wall in 1:48.85. Freshman Aidan Arie came in second, recording a time of 1:49.76. Zach Power earned third by touching the wall in 1:50.19.
50 Free
Captain Sage Sungail nabbed the two-spot in the 50 free, posting a 20.37. Harold Lockhart followed closely behind with a 20.59.
1-Meter Diving
On 1-meter, All-American Luke Sitz was victorious, registering a score of 370.25. Freshmen Grant Cates and RJ Snyder claimed second and third, respectively. Cates earned a 331.25 while Snyder scored a 313.35.
100 Free
Benjamin Chateigner posted a 43.72 in the 100 free, earning his first win as a Mustang. In an exhibition, Francis Brennan and Eli Likins recorded the next fastest times with Brennan touching the wall in 44.29 and Likins doing it in 44.95.
200 Back
Andrew Baklanov claimed his first collegiate win in the 200 back with a time of 1:44.44. In an exhibition, Jack Berube (1:44.51) and Asher Good (1:49.08) recorded the next fastest times.
200 Breast
A win in the 200 breast was claimed by sophomore Joe Umhofer after he touched the wall in 2:00.21. Kristaps Mikelsons posted the second-fastest time of 2:00.97 in an exhibition. Also in an exhibition, Trey Clervi recorded the next fastest time of 2:03.87.
500 Free
After touching the wall in 4:25.19, Forrest nabbed another win for the Mustangs in the 500 free. In an exhibition, freshman Aubrey Jaya recorded a second-best time of 4:29.06. Mark Van Eybergen finished third-best with an exhibition time of 4:29.35.
100 Fly
Freshman Aidan Arie reigned victorious in the 100 fly, posting a 48.87. Ben Longeway recorded the third-best time of 49.28 in an exhibition.
3-Meter Diving
On 3-meter, Georgia native RJ Snyder won his first college event, scoring a 326.00 and earning another NCAA Zone Cut. In exhibitions, John Dymond and Grant Cates followed Snyder with 314.10 and 307.60, respectively.
200 IM
In his second win of the night, Baklanov recorded a 1:49.63 in the 200 IM. In an exhibition, junior Jack Moore posted a second-fastest time of 1:50.25. Mikelsons finished behind him with an exhibition time of 1:50.81.
400 Free Relay
In the final event of the night, the SMU squad of Francis Brennan, Benjamin Chateigner, Sage Sungail and Eli Likins finished in 254.86 to secure the last win.

The Mustangs will host their annual SMU Classic on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. CT and 10 a.m., respectively. SMU will face LSU, Auburn, and ACC rival Louisville.
