WACO, Texas (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis is set to open its fall campaign at the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic hosted by Baylor on Sep. 12-14.

Meethre Barot, Noah McDonald, Alex Stafford and Matthew Faraci are making the trip to Hurd Tennis Center.

The Mustangs will face players from Baylor, Rice, UTSA, Abilene Christian, UT Arlington, Texas Tech and Texas A&M in Waco, Texas.

Mustangs in the ITA Preseason Rankings

Trevor Svajda, Alex Finkelstein and Georgi Georgiev were ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings.

Svajda and Finkelstein were ranked No. 22 and 69, respectively, in the singles rankings.

Georgiev broke into the doubles rankings with Svajda at No. 34.

NCAA Individual Championships

The Waco Fall Kickoff Classic is SMU's first step towards the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.

The Mustangs' first opportunity to earn a qualifying spot in the NCAA Individual Championships is at the ITA All-American Championships on Sep. 20-28.

In 2024, Svajda competed in the NCAA Singles Championship. He fell in the round of 32 of the tournament.
