HUMBLE, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's golf finished in a tie for fourth place at the Chevron Collegiate from the Golf Club of Houston.
 
Facing off against a field that featured 10 ranked teams among the 17 schools participating, the Mustangs came into the day in a tie for third place with Oregon. The team contended for the team title early on surging up the leaderboard and approaching North Carolina who was leading the tournament. The Mustangs would finish in a tie for fourth place after a two-over day.  The Mustangs finished ahead of five ranked teams in No. 6 Arkansas, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 32 Houston, No. 39 Indiana, No. 43 TCU.
 
A pair of Mustangs were among those tied for 11^th place. Celine Chen shot an even par 72 to finish the tournament at two-under. Her best round came with a four-under round two performance. The finish marked the junior's sixth career top 20 showing.
 
Mackenzie Lee also shot even par to maintain a 11^th place standing. Lee played bogey free in her first fourteen holes on her way to a program best 29^th top 20 finish.
 
Emily Odwin wrapped up the week at even par across the two days. She shot a final round 74. On day one, the Barbados native carded two rounds of one-under 71. She finished in 20^th, her 16^th top 20 finish.
 
Freshman Kirra St-Laurent, making just her second collegiate appearance, finished in 28^th at one-over par. She carded a 74 on the final day. Her week was highlighted by a 67 in round two that propelled the Mustangs to a 10-under score.
 
Grace Jin shot her best round of the tournament in round three with an even par scorecard. She finished in a tie for 55^th. Yoonjeong Huh competed as an individual and finished in 89^th.
 
The Mustangs next hit the course for the GameAbove Sports Invite March 9-10 out in California.
