FORT WORTH, Texas (SMU) – SMU women's golf wrapped up the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational in eighth place with
Emily Odwin leading the way in 12
th.

The Mustangs came into the final day in ninth place against a stacked field. They moved up one spot during the final round with a seven-over score, their best of the tournament. They finished with a 33-over score. The Mustangs came in ahead of four nationally ranked teams in No. 6 Auburn, No. 16 Mississippi State, No. 22 Arizona, and No. Â 41 TCU. Six of the seven teams that finished ahead of the Mustangs were ranked in the top 11.

Odwin moved up eight spots in the final round to finish in a tie for 12
th. The placement marked her 18
th top 20 finish in just two plus years on the Hilltop. She bogeyed just once on the final day on her way to a one-under 69. Her season scoring average sits at 72.04, fifth best at SMU.

Celine Chen recorded her eighth career top 20 showing by finishing in 19
th. Chen carded rounds of 73, 72 and 72.
Grace Jin carded a final round 72 to finish in a tie for 32
nd. JIn played bogey free in her final eight holes with two birdies, moving her up the leaderboard.

Mackenzie Lee finished in a tie for 54
th. Lee carded rounds of 76, 74 and 74.
Kirra St-Laurent came in 59
th after a final round 77.

Competing as an individual,
Yoonjeong Huh posted her best collegiate finish with a 32
nd place showing. Huh carded a final round 73.

Next up, the Mustangs host the Huntington Bank Collegiate at Trinity Forest Golf Club April 6-7. However, before the team's next event,
Mackenzie Lee and
Emily Odwin will tee off at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, the top amateur event in women's golf.
