Mustangs Conclude Last Chance Meet

FINAL RESULTS

DALLAS (SMU) –
SMU Men's Swimming wrapped up its Last Chance Meet on Saturday at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center, posting nine new additions to the program's All-Time Top Performers list.

Leonardo Pelaez - 500 free, 4:18.92, 7th
Aubrey Jaya - 500 free, 4:19.72, 10th
Jack Moore - 200 IM, 1:44.57, 5th
Cameron Thompson - 100 fly, 47.19, 10th
Jack Berube - 100 fly, 47.07, 6th
Jack Moore - 100 fly, 47.10, 7th
Francis Brennan - 100 free, 42.73, 5th
George Gonzalez - 100 free, 42.82, 9th
Aidan Arie - 200 fly, 1:45.19, 10th

NOTABLE RESULTS

500 Free

In the 500 free finals, two Mustangs earned program top times. Leonardo Pelaez recorded a time of 4:18.92 to rank seventh, while freshman Aubrey Jaya now places 10th on the list after touching the wall in 4:19.72.

200 IM
Jack Moore finished the 200 IM finals in 1:44.57, putting himself fifth on the SMU All-Time Top Performers list.

100 Fly
Three Mustangs found themselves logging top times in the 100 fly. Jack Berube led the pack with a time of 47.07, ranking sixth all-time. Jack Moore followed closely behind at seventh with a time of 47.10. Coming in at 10th on the top times list is Cameron Thompson. The South Africa native threw down a new personal best of 47.19 to claim the spot.

100 Breast
Freshman Trey Clervi recorded a new career-best time in the 100 breast after touching the wall in 52.80. Clervi remains in ninth on the program's top times list.

100 Back
Thad Austin swam the 100 back in 46.77, marking a new personal best of 46.77. The freshman stays in fifth all-time at SMU.

200 Back
Freshman Andy Baklanov threw down a new personal record in the 200 back, logging a time of 1:40.94. With the new time, Baklanov remains third all-time in the event at SMU.

100 Free
With a new career best of 42.83, George Gonzalez now ranks ninth on SMU's All-Time Top Performers list. In a preliminary heat, Francis Brennan earned fifth on the same list after recording a time of 42.73.

200 Fly
Senior Ryan Peckham remains ninth all-time at SMU after posting a new personal best of 1:45.12 in the 200 fly. Freshman Aidan Arie finished in 1:45.19 to make it on to the list at 10th.

UP NEXT
The Mustangs who qualify will compete at the NCAA DI Swimming & Diving Championships, taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 25-28.
