CARLSBAD, Calif. (SMU) – SMU women's golf made the cut and advanced to day four of the NCAA Championship in a tie for 13^th place at Omni La Costa Resort.
 
The Mustangs came into the day in a tie for sixth place needing a spot in the top 15 to make it to round four on Monday. SMU shot nine over in round three to go along with even par and one-over scores in the first two rounds.  The Mustangs moved into 13^th place three shots clear of the final non-advancing spot. After round four on Monday, the field will be cut down to eight teams who will each make the match play quarterfinals.
 
Kirra St-Laurent leads the Mustangs after three rounds. She occupies a share of 28^th after an even-par third day. The freshman is at even-par for the tournament.
 
One shot back for the tournament, Mackenzie Lee shot three-over, 75, in round three. She holds a share of 36^th with a best round of 70 in round two and is at one-over for the tournament.  Celine Chen sits at four-over par for the tournament. She also shot a 75 in round three. Chen is currently tied for 60^th.
 
Grace Jin was the third Mustang to shoot 75 in round three. Jin started strong with a 34 in the first nine holes. Jin holds a share of 83^rd. Emily Odwin carded a 77 to sit in a tie for 105^th.
 
The Mustangs and the 14 other teams that made the cut return to the course for round four on Monday. Eight quarterfinal spots will be up for grabs with the Mustangs looking to climb the leaderboard.
