DALLAS (SMU/DCTF) – SMU Football had several players garner preseason honors from the Dave Campbell's Texas Football (DCTF) publication on Wednesday.
Five Mustangs were selected to the preseason All-Texas teams, with
Alexander Kilgore (LB),
Nick Reed (K) and
PJ Williams (OL) earning first-team honors.
Kevin Jennings (QB) and
Yamir Knight (WR) were second-team selections.
Williams has been widely considered one of the premier offensive linemen in the country for the upcoming 2026 season, already earning All-America honors earlier by Phil Steele.
Kilgore finished with a career-best 60 tackles, including two interceptions in 2025.
Jennings delivered his best season yet in 2025, finishing with career highs in passing yards (3,641), passing touchdowns (26), completions (300) and completion percentage (66.0).
Knight is coming off a breakout campaign last year, finishing with 637 yards receiving and five touchdowns while being named the offensive MVP of the Holiday Bowl.
