DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Women's Soccer announced its 2026 schedule on Friday. The 18-game slate consists of 12 home games, which includes a seven-game homestand during non-conference action.
The Mustangs will take on six schools that were ranked or received votes at the end of last season, five of those teams finished the season ranked inside the top-15, and they will face seven teams that made the NCAA tournament last season.
SMU begins the season on the road, facing Vanderbilt on Aug.12. The Mustangs will return to Washburne Stadium for the remainder of the non-conference slate, highlighted by matches against North Texas on Aug. 16 (home opener), Boise State on Aug. 20, Texas Tech on Sept. 3, and Idaho State on Sept. 6 (senior night).
The Mustangs open ACC play on the road at Miami on Sept. 11, followed by a trip to Raleigh, North Carolina, to face NC State on Sept. 17. SMU's ACC home opener will be a Friday night showdown against Stanford on Sept. 25.
SMU will face Boston College on the road on Oct. 2 before returning to the Hilltop for a three-game homestand against Virginia Tech on Oct. 8, Virginia on Oct. 11, and Duke on Oct. 16.
The Mustangs will travel to the Bay Area to face Cal on Oct. 22 before heading to North Carolina to square off against the Tar Heels on Oct. 29. The Mustangs conclude the regular season at home against Pitt on Nov. 5.
SMU will also hold two public exhibitions against Dallas Trinity FC on Aug. 5 and Baylor on Aug. 8 to prepare for the start of the regular season.

In total, SMU added 17 newcomers, with seven transfers joining 10 freshmen, all of whom will make their Mustang debuts this fall.
SMU finished year two in the ACC with an overall record of 8-8-2 and a home record of 6-3-1. The Mustangs totaled six shutouts during the season and recorded 26 assists on 25 goals scored and had 13 different goal scorers during the season.
The Mustangs recorded 245 shots and scored 25 goals, which ranked eighth and 12th in the ACC, respectively. The 245 shots were the most in a single season under Nelson and the most since 2019 (346).
